Information and Advocacy

The Information/Social Welfare facility in the Foyer at the Reception area in The Ramsgrange Centre is available to all community members within our catchment area together with all Staff within the Project.  This service is invaluable particularly for people within the rural area who are unable to get to main towns for this type of information.  The INOU issued a booklet regularly called “Working for Work” and this booklet is readily available together with a number of Leaflets relating to Work/Educational issues, Citizens Information leaflets, various Benefits and Pension leaflets and MABS information on Budgeting.  Also available are up to date leaflets for people who have recently or are about to become unemployed through the provision of redundancy related welfare rights information leaflets.

Throughout 2014 there were numerous referrals and enquiries around Welfare Entitlements and further Education.  A drop in or by appointment only service was set up and managed by DSP CE Supervisor for community members to meet on a one to one basis in relation to their SW needs.  This service was very busy with many people being made unemployed/redundant.
