DSP Community Employment Scheme
South West Wexford Family Resource Centre is based in the old St. Louis Convent in the village of Ramsgrange, Co. Wexford and have operated a Community Employment Scheme for over 25 years in this rural setting.
Throughout this time, the benefits to the Centre are enormous with participants gaining much valuable work experience in very areas such as –
- Childcare
- Reception
- Maintenance
- Youth/Family Support work
- Administration
- Caretaker
- Community Café
- General Workers
Without the CE Scheme, the Centre could not continue to offer quality service and continue to operate to its full potential.
To be eligible you must be over 21 years and be in receipt of a Social Welfare payment for 12 months.
All participants on CE Schemes are required to undertake Training which is funded by DSP to assist them in gaining either full or part-time employment.
Work placements are based on 19.5 hours per week and participants are given the opportunity to update and gain new skills.
At South West Wexford FRC we are very fortunate in that over the years many participants have gone on to full or part-time employment, become self-employed or gone back to Third Level Education.
