Penny Bank
The penny bank operates every Friday at SWWFRC. The Pay 0ut date is Friday 30th November 2018. New savers are always welcome. Bank transfers are also an option. This is a great way to save a little every week - and get ready for Christmas (or other plans) by reducing the headache! Every bit counts and before you know it, a nice sum is waiting for you by the end of the year. Please contact reception at 051-389418 for more details.

Volunteers Needed Urgently
At SWWFRC we run projects with a group of core staff, a team of CE workers (of which there is always space to join) and a dedicated group of volunteers. We are asking for people to join us - simply by offering their time. A few hours a week can make a huge difference to the services we can offer. Full training (if necessary) will be given. WE NEED YOU!!! If you can help, contact reception for more details. We look forward to having you on board.

Family Support Worker @ SWWFRC
The Family Support Worker Service offers practical and emotional support to families during difficult times. The service offers support to families for an agreed number of hours per week in some of the following areas:

• Parenting Skills
• Confidence and Personal Development
• Home Care Management
• Diet, Nutrition and Health Care
• Budgeting and Family Finance

St. Louis Day Care Centre Ramsgrange
St Louis Day Care Centre Ramsgrange Assisted Home Living for the Elderly provide the following services: Meals on Wheels (daily delivery), Day Care Service, Home Baking Service, (Sweet & Savoury Orders can be catered for), Medical Service and Counselling services, including Bereavement Support, Chiropody and Hairdressing. The Bluebell Café takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from 2 pm to 4pm in “The Tea Room” at St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange, New Ross

Campile Hall
There is a weekly game of Bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30pm in aid of the ongoing development of the Hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximately being paid out each night with a rolling in House Lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.

Danescastle Music Group Seisiún
Danescastle Music Group will host Seisiún, an evening of traditional music, song and dance in Horse & Hound, Ballinaboola on Tuesdays in July and August commencing on Tuesday 3rd July at 8.30pm. Come and enjoy a relaxing evening of entertainment.

Ballyhack NS Parents Association and Ballyhack NS would like to thank all the local businesses and everyone who made donations and came along to support our field day, 10 June 2018. It was a great success. Many thanks to you all.

St James GAA Lotto
There was no winner of the €5,900 jackpot in the draw held on Tuesday 26th June 2018. The winning numbers were: 6, 17, 19 & 31. St James Club had one match 3 winner; Rosanne Nolan, Clonsharragh who won €30.Jackpot for the next lotto draw on 10th July 2018 will be €6,200. Lotto tickets are available from committee members and local shops & pubs.

Abbey Ladies Golf Society
In glorious sunshine 31 Abbey Ladies played their 6th competition in Abbey Par 3. There was a great turnout despite clashing with the Captain’s Mixed in New Ross and other competitions. The golf course was in superb condition, true to form, thanks to Frank and Ned. After enjoyable golf, ladies returned to the clubhouse to the whiff of BBQ food catered for by Frank yummy, delicious. Thanks to Frank and Kylie his helper serving the food. Great scores were returned to the excitement of all.

St James GAA Lotto
There was no winner of the €5,600 jackpot in the draw held on Tuesday 12th June 2018. The winning numbers were: 6, 26, 27 & 30. St James Club had one match 3 winner; Jason O’Leary, Mersheen who won €70.

Rural Development

 

SWWCDG run a variety of programmes and activities that promote and encourage social inclusion for all members of the south west Wexford community. We work through the principles of community development of being open to and encouraging participation by all sections of our community. We aim to offer new opportunities for individual development, training, education and offer support services particularly to those lacking choice, resources and  power in our activities.  We also offer support and work with the community and other groups to promote positive changes  in policy that affect them. Recent activities include;

 

  • SWWCDP ran a Be Positive 2014 campaign @ The Ramsgrange Centre promoting positive thinking from the 13th January 2014 for 2 full weeks. A focus point was made on our notice board full of inspirational quotations and stress management techniques.
  • 40 local men and women people participated in our health check project in January 2014 as part of the National Operation Transformation Event.
  • An outreach information event to increase awareness and uptake of health, welfare , educational and cultural activities and services at SWWCDP and countywide was also  held in January in Ballinaboola.
  • SWWCDP registered to take part in the Irish Heart Foundations “Be Red Hot this Valentines” campaign in January, 2014 during which we ran 3 small information provision and fundraising events.
  • A Budgeting workshop for the community was held on June 10th 2014 supported by inputs from MABS, the Energy Officer Wexford County Council and a HSE Dietician.
  • Our information stand @ the Killag show on July 10th 2014 was targeted towards those seeking to access information on enterprise, education and training and FAS/TUS CE schemes , youth-work provision and SWWCDG childcare provision.
  • SWWCDG supports the November Women’s Aid 16 Days Campaign annually with information provision around domestic violence issues and supports, commemorating our participation with a Balloon Release and supporting a collection for Wexford Womens refuge.
  • SWWCDG held a four-week “Living Well” program, centered around individual workshops with a specific focus on Health and Well-being in November 2014 open to everybody in the catchment area.
  • Supports are also provided to the following groups @ The Ramsgrange Centre :
      • Blokes with Cameras    
      • Creative Images group
      • Shelbourne Womens Group
      • St Louis Stitchers
      • Ramsgrange Horticultural Society
