Tourism & Business Course at SWWFRC
Our learners are now busy doing their final exam in word processing, and assessments in Communication. They are all looking forward to the Christmas break and starting their new modules in Tourism Principles & Practice and also Customer Service.
Mental Health Support
A weeklyGrow mental health peer support group meets every Monday in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre (Y34 DP26), from 7 – 9pm. If you would like to talk to others who have experienced mental health challenges, come along, and see if Grow is for you. The group is free, confidential, and open to all. Community Employment Scheme opportunities
South West Wexford Family Resource Centre has a number of C.E positions available. The Centre in Ramsgrange offers a wide range of support services to the local community, including childcare, family support, counselling services, a Community Café, Youth Café for teenagers and young people, secretarial services, and room hire. At the moment, we are looking for a Receptionist and a Cleaner to work half day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday every week. FREE Book Library at SWWFRC
If you are clearing out your bookshelves to make way for new Christmas reading, please remember we are always looking for donations of books suitable for children and teenagers We already have a wide range of adult books, which are freely available here in the Foyer of the Family Resource Centre, so drop in any time and stock up.
Christmas Carols, Music & Dance
There will be a celebration of Christmas Carols, music and dance featuring the parish school choirs and special guests, in St James Church on Wednesday 13th December, starting at 7pm. There will be a €5 charge at the door and all proceeds will go to St James Church Restoration Fund. A raffle will also be held on the night.

Wexford Alliance Dementia Café
at St. Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange, Co. Wexford Y34H283. Thursday 14th December 2023 2pm–4pm (Café held 2nd Thursday of every month). Guest Speaker: Sally Veale, Social Worker, WEXMASS-Wexford Memory Assessment Support Service. Presentation Title: “Social Connection”. The Café provides a warm and welcoming space for people with dementia, their family and friends, social and health care professionals to meet, exchange ideas and learning. Local Link bus
If you are out and about this Christmas, don’t forget the Local Link bus service. Route 399 operates four return services a day, from Hook Head to New Ross, along with two additional services on Friday and Saturday. The route provides late evening and peak-time services for commuters and offers connectivity to villages and areas such as Slade, Fethard, Saltmills, Ramsgrange, Ballyhack and Campile. The service not only facilitates travel between the villages on the peninsula and New Ross town, but also connects with other bus services in Ramsgrange to allow passengers to continue their journey into Waterford. The buses are wheelchair accessible and Free Travel Pass holders and children under 5 years travel free. You can download a timetable from the website: www.locallinkwexford.ie
Hatha Yoga classes
Daniel Baillieul recently started his new business “Back to Grá”. One of the ways he aims to assist people return to Grá/Love is through teaching Hatha Yoga. He has been running classes in Duncannon Community Centre on Tuesday mornings 10.30-11.30 a.m. and Wednesday evenings 7-8 p.m. with space to run a second class from 8.30-9.30 for Men only should the interest arise. He finishes up the 20th of December and will restart on the 9th of January. A great way to start the New Year and reenergise after the 12 days of Christmas.
Ramsgrange Active Retirement Group
Our next monthly meeting will be held on Monday January 8th in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre, at 2.00pm. This meeting will include our AGM, and to select a committee for the coming year, so please put your name forward if you’re interested in a role. Membership for the year is €20 -payable at the meeting. The final date to secure a place on the holiday trip to Belfast from 6th-9th May is the 8th of January, contact Mary B on 087 2073966 for more details. Tintern Trails walk
We are holding a fundraising walk on Wednesday 27th December. Starting from the Colclough Memorial Hall in Saltmills, at 2pm, this will be a family friendly event with bread and soup served afterwards. Donations go towards the ongoing maintenance of the trails.
Christmas Craft Fair
Come along for lots of crafting cheer to Campile Hall for the Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday the 10th of December from 10pm to 4pm. Featuring handmade made crafts from all over County Wexford and beyond. It could be the perfect place to snap up a few presents before the big day.
Tickets for the Mike Denver Concert to be held in the Hall on 24th March will also be on sale at this event. These would make an ideal Christmas present for any country music lover in your life.
Christmas Concert Rehearsal
There will be a rehearsal for our Christmas concert on Sunday the 10th of December from 2pm to 4pm at St James church Ramsgrange. All performers are most welcome to attend.
