LTI (Local Training Initiative) at SWWFRC
Congratulations to the Local Training Initiative and South West Wexford Family Resource Centre team for being shortlisted for an Education Award 2025 in the category ‘Best Student Experience Award’. The award ceremony takes place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin on the 8th of May. We want to wish the LTI the best of luck on the night.
New Early Learning & Childcare Course – QQI Level 5 at SWWFRC
Following numerous requests, South West Wexford Family Resource Centre will be running an in-house QQI Level 5 Major award in Early Learning & Childcare. This course will be classroom led by a tutor. For more information contact Jane on 085 2569680. Limited spaces available.
Community employment positions at SWWFRC
South West Wexford FRC is currently seeking a Youth Support worker. This role will give you an opportunity to work with young people, helping them to develop essential life skills like communication, problem solving, decision making and leadership. Sugradh Childcare Easter Camp at SWWFRC
Sugradh Childcare are holding their easter camp for the 2 weeks of easter. Week 1 – Mon 14th April – Thurs 17th April and Week 2 – Tue 22nd to 25th April (€50 per week/€15 per day) 9.30am to 1.30pm (Ages 3-9) Families can apply for National Childcare Scheme on mygov.ie for reduced rates. Ramsgrange Parish Office
The parish Office has a wide selection of cards in stock at the moment. These include Easter cards, sympathy cards, prayer cards, and 1st Holy Communion items. The Parish Office is open from 9am to 1pm, Monday – Friday.
St James GAA Club Lotto
There was no Jackpot winner in the Club Lotto of 11/03/2025. The winning numbers were 4,11, 13, and 29. There was one Match 3 winners – Niall Kennedy. The next Jackpot will be €14,000 and the Reserve Jackpot €14,000. €300 will be added (on reserve) on a no win basis. Match 3 numbers win or share €200. The next draw will take place on Tuesday 25th March at 8.30pm in Bannow/Ballymitty Clubhouse. Hook Film Club
The next movie showing in The Hall, Fethard on Sea, is “Small Things Like These”. Set in the town of New Ross, the film gives a glimpse of the challenging conditions in 1980’s Ireland. Bill Furlong, a hard-working coal merchant doing his best to support his wife and five daughters, makes an early morning delivery to the local convent. However, an unexpected encounter with one of the convents traumatised residents, shakes him to his very core. The film starts at 8pm, with doors opening at 7.45pm, and entry fee is €10
Hook Pickleball
Would you like to take up a new sport? If so, come try out pickleball. The world’s fastest growing sport. It’s a fun, social and friendly game. Pickleball is played on a badminton size court with an additional non-volley line. A smooth faced paddle is used to hit a perforated ball. Hook Pickleball plays on Mondays from 7pm to 8:30pm in Ramsgrange Community School (RCS), Tuesdays from 2pm to 3:30pm in Fethard Hall, Thursdays from 7pm to 8:30pm in RCS and Fridays from 7pm to 8pm in Fethard Hall. Campile Hall News
Horeswood Musical Society are back with their 11th annual production. This year they will be performing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a musical based on the famous Roald Dahl novel. Shows will be performed in Campile hall from Thursday 3rd April until Sunday 6th April. Tickets are available on Ticket source Ireland. Horeswood Musical Society are a volunteer led society set up in 2010, each year profits from their productions are donated to a local charity or cause in the community. This year their profits will be given to Horeswood national school, to help in some way with the setting up of a special classroom for children with autism which is scheduled to open in September 2025.
Tintern Drama Group in association with Campile Hall and Campile Area Development Group are performing their play “The Real McCoy” a comedy by Tommy Marren, in Campile Hall on Thursday Night 27th March, starting at 8pm.
