Abbey Ladies Golf Society

Friday morning, 11th May brought heavy rain from the West. The Abbey Ladies wondered and were convinced our 4th golf outing of this season would be cancelled. Lo and behold the rain eased away and the sun shone by afternoon.

32 golfers took to the fairways of Abbey par 3 in the evening.

Thanks to Frank and Ned for having the course in tip top condition despite the amount of rain that had fallen leaving the ground a bit soft underfoot nevertheless.

What a sight to behold as golfers returned with great scores:-

1st Teenie Murphy    (23) 40pts.

2nd Brigid Murphy    (19) 38pts.

3rd Ann Crosbie       (30) 36pts.

Category 1    Ann Banville            (18) 35pts. L 9

Category 2    Mary H. Murphy      (28) 31pts.

Category 3    Pauline Byrne          (36) 34pts.

Nearest the Pin on 2 holes brought no winner.

Oh dear no birdie winner either but 32 euros for birdie fund to be claimed by next birdie winner/s.

Thanks Brigid and Paula for the usual checking of returned cards.

A joyful social evening was had by all as Frank served us with delicious hot food plates when we returned to the clubhouse. Thanks to Frank and his helper Catriona.

Thanks to all players on the day, a great turnout ladies.
