Certificate in Community Studies Information Day

Looking to build your skills, deepen your understanding of community work, and make a difference?  Come along to an information session to learn about the Certificate in Community Studies, delivered by SETU in partnership with SWWFRC. What to Expect:

Meet the team from SWWFRC and SETU, learn about the Certificate in Community Studies (30 ECTS, Level 6) and explore how the course supports personal, professional, and community development. Ask questions, get advice, and enjoy refreshments.  The information session starts at 10am in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre.  The Course will run Friday mornings from September 2025 until June 2026

Sugradh Childcare Centre, SWWFRC

Sugradh Childcare Centre are delighted to announce that we are now taking bookings for our Summer Camps in July. Camp runs for five days a week and from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Week one – June 30th onwards, Week two -July 7th onwards, Week three- July 14th onwards, Week four -July 21st onwards. Suitable for children aged 3-9 years. Children have to be fully toilet trained. SWWFRC – Pre-teen & Teen Activities

SWWFRC are holding pre-teen activities that are a great way to stay active, socialise and engage this summer.  8th July 2 to 5pm – The Art Lab, 10th July 2 to 5pm – Outdoor Sports, 22nd July 2 to 4pm – Free Style Art, 24th July 2-5pm – Mission Uncover. Ramsgrange Active Retirement Group

The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday 7th. July in South Wexford Resource Centre at 2.30pm. Please note change in time. Regular activities for members:

Swimming;  Every Monday and Thursday at the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon €5 for Active Retirement Members. Social evenings starting back in September. June 25th.- Johnstown Castle guided tour of museum and castle. Pick up times, Campile 10.15, Ramsgrange 10.30, Wellington Bridge 10.45. July; No Cinema trip, due to no film available, it is proposed to go to Kilmokea Gardens for afternoon tea. August 28TH. Explore Nature’s Bounty with Our Foraging & Folklore Course

Duncannon Fort

Duncannon Fort is back open for guided tours.   Tours are available at 11am,  1pm and 3pm Wednesday to Saturday every week for June, and 7 days a week for July and August. To book your ticket go to www.duncannonfort.ie or call in to us in the Tourist Office to get your ticket.

Duncannon ICA news

The following officers were elected at the AGM of the Duncannon ICA. .President – Helena Crosbie: Secretary – ŪNA Prendergast, assisted by Anna Walsh, and Treasurer – Marie Kehoe.  Helena praised the members on their attendance at monthly meetings, outings and other events, and classes organised by the guild.  She congratulated everyone on their participation and successes in competitions at Federation meetings.  Congratulations to Mary Waters, who got second place in the Federation competition “A keyring made from recycled materials”

ICA events

Ziggy from Soul Scribes facilitated a sound workshop for Duncannon ICA in the St Louis Day Care Centre.  Through sound and breathwork, she helped us to rewire, reconnect and relax our bodies.  At the moment, members are busy preparing for special occasions in Colaiste Abbain on the 26th June, and a yarn bombing event on Wexford Quay during Fleadh Cheoil 2025.  The Guild will host the Federation meeting on Monday June 30th, in the Community Centre, Duncannon

St James GAA Club Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner in the Club Lotto of 03/06/2025.  The winning numbers were 4, 6, 7 and 11. There were fifteen Match 3 winner who shared €200. The next Jackpot will be €14,000 and the Reserve Jackpot €14,000. Match 3 numbers win or share €200. The next draw will take place on Tuesday 17d June at 8.30pm in Bannow/Ballymitty Clubhouse. Kelloggs Cul Camps

St James GAA, Ramsgrange, will host a week long Cul Camp from Monday 11th August to Friday 15th August.  The camp is suitable for boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 13.  This is always a great week, revolving around having fun and learning new skills.  The cost for the 5 days is and you can register online at gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps
