Community Café & Early Years Assistant positions

We are currently recruiting someone for our Community Café.  This position offers an opportunity to gain experience and learn new skills, in a relaxed and friendly environment.  The Café opens on weekdays only, so there will be no weekend work.  We are also hiring an Early Years Assistant -full training will be provided.  These are C.E positions, so for more information contact Jane on 051 389418

Fusion Youth Café at SWWFRC

The Youth Café has re-opened after the summer break.  This is a weekly, free, afterschool drop-in teen centre, which runs from 4pm to 6pm. Mondays are suitable for 4th 5th and 6th Years, and Tuesdays for 1st to 3rd Years.  The youth café is a lovely space to relax and unwind, listen to music, play pool, darts or the PlayStation. A free toastie and tea/coffee or a juice will be provided for everyone on arrival and there will be a tuck shop available.  We have several exciting initiatives coming up.  Girls Kickboxing will start soon, on a date and time to be confirmed.  This class is suitable for 12 – 15 year old girls and needs to be booked in advance. Leadership Programme at Fusion Youth Café

Join our Leadership Programme which is designed to enable young people to develop the skills and qualities necessary to be inspiring leaders of the future. Learn valuable life skills such as problem solving, communication, self-awareness, relationship building and the ability to adapt to change. Help support the Fusion team with fundraising and community work. This programme is suitable for 4th – 6th Years and there are limited spaces available. Ramsgrange Horticultural Society

Interested in gardening?  Why not join us here at the side of SWW Family Resource Centre on Thursday mornings from 11am to 12.30pm.  This could be a great way to make friends, share tips and learn new skills. No previous gardening knowledge is required to join the group, just enthusiasm for soil and growing plants.  We have access to a tunnel and basic equipment.  For more information, please phone 051 389418.

St Louis Stitchers at SWWFRC

This lovely group meet every Wednesday at the Family Resource Centre in Ramsgrange, from 11am to 1 pm.  A great opportunity to  have a chat, compare patterns, and share tips. People bring along whatever stitching project they have been working on and all inspire and help each other.  New members are always welcome to drop in, or for more information phone Reception on 051 389418

Bloke with Cameras

This group meets every Wednesday, from 7pm to 9pm, in the Family Resource Centre in Ramsgrange.  We are currently enjoying learning how to get the best out of our mobile phone camera, including how to make a film.  New members are always welcome, so for more information contact Jack on 087 1358254.

Pottery Workshop

Exercise your creativity in our Pottery Workshops with locally based potter Laura Barry of Florence & Milly Pottery & Creative Hub. Each workshop runs over 2 days, on the first you will create your very own masterpiece. You then return the week after to apply the finishing touches to make it your own.

Ramsgrange Tidy Towns Group

Want to make a difference, make friends, and support your village?  If you are thinking about joining a community group, have you considered the village Tidy Towns group.  We have a laugh, develop great projects, and take part in planning, planting, painting, woodworking projects, and much more.  All skills are welcome -we learn from each other.  In terms of time demands -some of us give an hour per month, some an hour per week – you decide.  Come along to our next meeting and see if this group is for you.  All are welcome, 10th October at 7pm in the Parish Office, beside Ramsgrange Church

Ramsgrange Active Retirement Group

The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday 7th October in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre at 2pm. Some upcoming trips: in October, on a date to be decided, we will have Table Quiz in Duncannon Hall.  This is a home event and the cost is €10 per table of 6. This quiz is open to non-members and there will be cash prizes. Contact Judith on 086 8110053.   An evening of “Hits from the Musicals” has been organised for Wednesday, October 30th in White’s Hotel. The  cost of €35 includes ticket and coach. Contact Ann Mc Cormack on 087 3371344, if you wish to book. On Monday, 2nd December, we will be organising a Christmas shopping trip to Kilkenny. Pick up in Ramsgrange at 10am returning at 4pm A non-refundable deposit of €10 is required for booking this trip. Contact Mary Ryan on 0876530346 if you wish to come along. On Wednesday 4th December we will hold our Annual Christmas Party, Christmas Party in Tir Na Og, Wellington Bridge from 2pm to 6pm. The cost is €10, and includes afternoon tea, raffle, and music. Names will be taken at November’s meeting as there are only 50 places available. The holiday next year is to Galway, from 5th-9th May. We will be staying in the Station House in Cliften.  The cost for 4 nights/5days, €640 per person sharing/€780 for single room, price based on 30 people travelling, a non-refundable deposit of €50 is required to book a place, balance due by March 2025. Our Community Support Box was very successful, and we will continue for the remainder of the year.  Members are asked to bring along a non-perishable item to donate to St Louis Day Centre, for people in need.

Hook Film Club  Hook Film Club will be showing the highly acclaimed film Kneecap on Tuesday 17th September in The Hall, Fethard on Sea at 8pm.  Doors open at 7;45.  €10 per ticket.  Kneecap is a 2024 comedy-drama film depicting the rise of Belfast-based hip-hop trio, KneecapKneecap premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2024, the first film in the Irish language to do so, where it won the NEXT Audience Award
